WombleWorld can confirm that today’s Dons Trust Board updates read like the opening chapter of a farce even we wouldn’t dare write. Two resignations. One withdrawal.
We would like to thank Ian and Simon for their service, which mainly consisted of absences, angry manifestos written in disappearing ink, and ghost impressions during meetings. Their resignations bring to an end a combined total of almost zero discernible impact.
We also note that Matt Thornett has withdrawn from the election. We understand his manifesto will be reissued in the Children’s section under the title The Very Miserable Caterpillar.
In the midst of this chaos, WombleWorld commends James Longhurst for being the one Board member capable of sounding like an adult. We do not hand out “good egg” ratings lightly, but he has earned it.
As always, the football club continues to function perfectly well, despite its owners mistaking board governance an extreme sport. WombleWorld remains available to provide calm and rational oversight, or at least better jokes.
WombleWorld
Officially more stable than the Dons Trust Board.
